Shifting the Academic Advising Culture on Campus
Last week we had the privilege of providing a series of trainings, workshops, and facilitated conversations at a large, public, regional university with an enrollment of just under 40,000 students. The focus of our visit was to help their academic advising leadership team think through how they might shift the culture of their advising model from a transactional encounter to a transformational holistic student success coaching model. We also spent time with their campus retention team talking about creative retention solutions. We left their campus impressed with the good people we spent time with and felt encouraged that they can implement a few ideas that we discussed to help make a big difference.
